📋Overview
Agnogenic Myeloid Metaplasia, currently referred to as primary myelofibrosis, is a myeloproliferative neoplasm involving the abnormal production of blood-forming stem cells. This condition leads to the gradual buildup of collagenous scar tissue within the marrow, which can impair the organ's ability to produce mature blood cells.
The progressive scarring may cause the body to relocate blood cell production to external sites such as the liver or spleen. This shift, known as extramedullary hematopoiesis, occurs when the primary marrow environment becomes increasingly restricted by fibrous tissue.
