
Gardner Syndrome

Gardner syndrome is a hereditary disorder considered a variant of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). It is characterized by the development of numerous colorectal polyps along with various extracolonic manifestations such as benign bone growths and soft tissue tumors. The modern preferred term is familial adenomatous polyposis with extracolonic features. It results from mutations in the APC gene and carries a high risk of colorectal cancer if untreated.
