Lichen Sclerosus et Atrophicus
๐Overview
Lichen Sclerosus et Atrophicus, now more commonly referred to as Lichen Sclerosus, is a long-term inflammatory disorder that may cause the skin to become thin, white, and fragile. While it can occur on various parts of the body, it most frequently involves the genital and perianal areas.
This condition often leads to significant discomfort, including persistent itching and the potential for scarring in the affected tissues. Although it can affect individuals of any age or gender, it is most frequently observed in postmenopausal women.
