๐Overview
Primary Amyloidosis, now more commonly referred to as amyloid light-chain (AL) amyloidosis, occurs when plasma cells produce misfolded light-chain proteins. These proteins aggregate into amyloid deposits that settle in various tissues throughout the body.
These systemic deposits can interfere with the normal structure and operation of multiple organs. This process often leads to progressive organ dysfunction as the protein buildup increases over time.
