๐Overview
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a disorder affecting the developing retinal blood vessels in premature infants. It is a well-recognized condition primarily seen in babies born before 31 weeks of gestation or with very low birth weight. ROP can lead to abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina, potentially causing retinal detachment and vision loss if untreated.
