๐Overview
This condition occurs when one or more of the four tendons that stabilize the shoulder joint and facilitate arm movement become damaged. These tendons form a cuff that holds the head of the upper arm bone firmly within the shallow socket of the shoulder.
Damage to these tissues can result from a sudden, acute injury or may develop gradually through chronic degeneration of the tendon over time. The clinical presentation varies depending on whether the tear is partial or involves the full thickness of the tendon.
