๐Overview
This condition involves irritation or damage to the tendons that connect the forearm muscles to the bone, specifically affecting the extensor carpi radialis brevis. Although the name is associated with sports, the condition may develop from any activity involving repetitive wrist and arm movements that place stress on the elbow joint.
Modern clinical terminology often refers to this state as lateral epicondylitis or lateral epicondylalgia to describe the underlying tendinopathy. It typically manifests as localized discomfort where the tendons attach to the lateral epicondyle, the bony protrusion on the exterior of the elbow.
