๐Overview
An undescended testicle, clinically referred to as cryptorchidism, occurs when a testis remains in the abdomen or inguinal canal rather than migrating to its proper position. This movement typically happens during the final stages of fetal development, though the descent may sometimes complete naturally within the first few months of life.
The condition is generally identified during a physical examination shortly after birth. While it most frequently involves a single testis, clinical observations show that both may be affected in some instances.
