Uterine cancer is a term commonly used to describe malignant tumors originating from the uterus, most often referring to endometrial cancer, which arises from the lining of the uterus (endometrium). It is the most common gynecologic cancer in developed countries. Other less common types include uterine sarcomas, which arise from the muscle or connective tissue of the uterus. The preferred modern term for the most frequent form is endometrial carcinoma.
